Learning Hands-on Art
For most of my art "career" I've been mostly self taught. That is until I reached High School. I had my favorite teacher Mr. Metcalf for three years straight teaching me about art. I had Painting, Drawing, and Printmaking with him until my senior year. I have two completely different art class this year that I have never even thought of taking before. Currently I am taking both sculpture class and pottery class. Both classes are very similar to each other but it is not anything I am used to. I usually use pencils and paints but now I'm learning a whole new meaning of art. I am learning how carve into a plaster block and make an elephant fountain out of white clay. I have never been a hands-on artist I have always used paper not chunks of materials to form a figure out of it. I love both of those classes and am very happy that I took them because now I know multiple different forms of art and I am learning more and more each day.
