Late Halloween

Even though Halloween is over I would like to go over a type of art that people don't think of as art. That would be body painting which is mostly known during Halloween time. Ellinor Rosander is a youtube and instagram famous body artist. She is not known by many except for the people that follow her. Her work is phenomenal and she is a self taught artist, by looking at her work no one would expect that.

Another famous artist is Alexys Fleming, or Madeulook by Lex. Alexys is more traditional than Ellinor is. Alexys uses only face paints to make very detailed paintings on her face and body for her canvas. She is an inspiration to many people because she supports many children's hospital because she has been in and out of them her whole life. She is a strong diabetic and helps as many people as she can because she knows what its like.

Skin Art

The word tattoo comes from the Tahitian tatu which means to mark something. Some people are against tattoo's, but they don't realize that tattoo's have been a form of art since 12,000 B.C. Tattooing has been a form of knowing someone's religion or traditions. Both men and women around the world have had tattoo's of what they were skilled in so they would get noticed. That is a lot like today, quite often people are tattooed to show who they are for example the Hell's Angel's have tattoos to show their groups symbols.

Ancient Egyptians used tattoos to show their roles in society and how important they were. They often tattooed the criminals in their society so others will know that they are dangerous. When they moved along so did the tattooing. Tattooing has not stopped and is getting much more advanced. Tattooing has now changed a lot. We often tattoo ourselves to just for the artwork not for symbols as often anymore. A lot of people also keep it traditional and get something special to them done for themselves. For example I recently got  tattoo done for my baby niece and my sister also got one done for her baby, I also know a few people that have gotten the breast cancer ribbons for their mother or Aunts. There are also people who love having the art imprinted on themselves because it is beautiful and a good way to express yourself.

My Story on Art

Todays post is going to be a little different than my usual factual posts. This post is my story on how I started to love art.

When I was younger my sister was always outside playing all different types of sports and I would sit inside with my mother because I didn't like sports. Until I was about in the eighth grade I didn't really have something to do to spare time like my sister did with sports.

I took my first art class in the Junior High and thought "wow, this is actually really fun!". So later I went home and I asked my parents for coloring supplies for Christmas, and so they got me art supplies. I first I started out small with Disney characters like the little mermaid.

After I was over my Disney character kick I began to draw for other people because  I was told that I had a special talent with art. I thought that maybe people would pay me for some drawings but I was too afraid in the Junior High to even ask about that. I was told to draw what I love and I love action movies like Batman and Superman so that's what I started to draw. During this adventure my family bought me some more art supplies like markers and colored pens.

When I was finished my drawing of Batman and his enemies I was offered some money from people on facebook. That was weird for especially since I used to never post on facebook and never would talk to any of these people on their. I couldn't sell this one though, it was my dad's father day present. My Aunt Tina originally offered me $50 for this piece and I refused but I later got even better sketching paper and began drawing even more. Before I knew it people were asking me for drawings on facebook! I was in shock. I kept drawing and drawing every day almost and then the new Iron Man movie came out and now it is one of my favorite movies so I did one of my drawings of Iron Man. I am in the process of getting it personally framed but some friends at school wanted me to make it over and over again for them for around $30 a piece. It took me so long to perfect my original copy that I had to say no after two more of them.

Over time I kept getting requests by people for more art work. It was getting to be a lot so I had to turn down a lot of people unfortunately, but I still sold some pieces whenever I had the chance to get any done.

Drawing was like a get away for me. It is what calmed me down whenever I was upset or mad and it still does. I just did this drawing the other day and I love it but I'm going to do some more work on it before I put it up to sale yet.

When I started to learn how to spray paint galaxy's and sunsets people started to go crazy. Those painting are quick and painless but the spray paints cost a lot so I had to up my pricing a bit. I still sold over 10 paintings and I charged $50 and up depending on how big or detailed it was. That was just over one summer and if I could spray paint in the winter I would because it was like a job for me and I loved it.

So that is my story on how I began to love art and I hope I find the perfect career to carry on my fun experiences.

Makeup

People tend to under estimate makeup. You may think that the topic of makeup is very odd on this blog but it really isn't. It takes a lot of talent to do your makeup exactly how you want it. I know a few people that have a strong love to makeup and I think that its good that they have the ability to express themselves out to the world without any fear of how others think. That takes talent and courage and I give them props.

Street Art

All around the world there is "street art" that happens when no one is watching. Some artists purposely do this because well first off it is illegal, and second they don't want the fame from their art they just want to get art out there. That is the majority of graffiti on the streets, they try to remain unknown just to see the reactions of people loving art. It's not only graffiti that's on the streets, people have been known to create sculptures put them on the streets wherever they can make it fit. a lot of the time it means something personal to them as well an most people wont understand it but it's only truly important to the artist themselves.

Stephen Antonson

A not-so famous artist named Stephen Antonson does art out of plaster. He's been creating plaster art since 2002. Before Stephen discovered that he could use plaster for art he was creating drawings and photos for people and that's now he built up his studio. He always starts with a drawing followed with either wood or clay to be sure that he loves the piece. He creates wonderful pieces like chandeliers or even fountains. To this day Stephen is making beautiful plaster art and selling it as a full time job.
It's amazing that you can make art out of almost anything and make a living off of it.

Musical Art

Let's talk about a different form of art that you may be able to hear or see everyday.

Music.
Music is a big portion of life, you hear with almost anything from just in the background of a movie or on the radio in the car. Music wouldn't be here if there wasn't art to back it up. Music consists of beats and lyrics which is both art, writing the lyrics is like poetry. Creating the beat to a song is the creativity that the writer releases into the song along with the lyrics as well.

Sure some music artist may steal they're beat from other artist but that doesn't mean that creativity wasn't involved at one point in time. There is a reason why they're known as artists.
